UME Pet products · Last updated: May 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how UME Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our pet-related apps and experiences listed below (each a “Product,” together the “Products”). By using any Product, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use that Product.
Products covered by this policy
- My Pet: AI Chat — mobile companion for Android and iOS. Chat, care, and AI-powered features on your phone.
- My Pet: MenuBar — macOS menu bar companion on the Mac App Store. A small desktop pet that stays in your menu bar while you work.
- Lock screen pet — lock-screen pet animations and presence delivered through OEM (device-maker) partnerships. Not a standalone app you install from a public store; availability and data practices may also depend on your phone brand and system build.
1. Who we are
These Products are published by UME Studio. For privacy-related requests, please contact us using the details in the Contact section below.
2. Information we collect
Depending on which Product you use, your device settings, and permissions you grant, we may collect or process:
- Content you provide. For example, messages or prompts in My Pet: AI Chat, images or other inputs you choose to upload or generate through AI features, pet-care or chat interactions, and any feedback or support messages you send us.
- Device and technical data. Such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, general region (e.g., country or time zone derived from settings), and diagnostic logs that help us fix crashes and improve stability. For My Pet: MenuBar, this may include Mac-specific signals such as macOS version and menu-bar feature state.
- Usage information. Such as feature usage, session duration, and in-app or in-experience events, where enabled, to understand how a Product is used and to improve it.
- Identifiers from app stores or sign-in. If you sign in or purchase through Apple, Google, or similar platforms, those providers may share transaction or account identifiers with us as needed to deliver the service (for example, Mac App Store purchases for My Pet: MenuBar or Google Play for My Pet: AI Chat).
- Lock screen and OEM context. For Lock screen pet, your device manufacturer or system integrator may process additional technical or device identifiers needed to render lock-screen content. Where we receive data from an OEM partner, we use it only to operate, support, or improve that integrated experience, subject to our agreements with the partner.
My Pet: MenuBar is designed to stay lightweight on your Mac; we do not use it to read unrelated files on your computer beyond what is needed for the menu-bar companion features you enable.
We do not require you to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the features you choose to use.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Products (including chat, pet care, menu-bar presence, and lock-screen experiences);
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our terms;
- Respond to support requests and communicate important service updates;
- Coordinate with OEM partners where Lock screen pet is offered on supported devices;
- Comply with legal obligations and defend our rights where permitted by law.
4. AI processing
My Pet: AI Chat includes conversational and AI-powered features. When you use those features, your inputs may be processed by our systems and, where applicable, by third-party model or infrastructure providers solely to generate outputs for you. We instruct providers to use such data only as needed to provide the service, consistent with their own policies and our agreements with them. My Pet: MenuBar and Lock screen pet do not use the same cloud chat pipeline unless a future feature clearly says so in the Product.
Do not submit sensitive personal data (for example, government ID numbers, health records, or passwords) unless a feature explicitly requires it and you accept the risk.
5. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist with hosting, analytics, customer support, payments, fraud prevention, or AI inference, under contractual obligations to protect data;
- Legal and safety when we believe disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, us, or others;
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, where your information may transfer as part of that transaction.
We do not sell your personal information in the conventional sense of selling lists to advertisers. If a specific Product or distribution channel includes advertising, any ad-related identifiers will be used only as disclosed in that Product or store listing.
6. Retention
We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. Retention periods vary by data type; for example, server logs and analytics may be kept for a limited rolling window, while account or transaction records may be kept longer for legal and accounting reasons.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
The Products are not directed to children under the age required in your region to consent to data processing without parental permission (often 13 or 16). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in that category. If you believe we have done so, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete the information.
9. International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to data portability or to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. To exercise these rights, contact us as below. We may need to verify your request before responding.
11. Third-party services
The Products may contain links to third-party websites or rely on third-party SDKs and platform services (for example, Google Play, the Apple App Store, Mac App Store billing, analytics, or OEM system components for lock-screen delivery). Their collection and use of information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law or within the relevant Product.
13. Contact
For questions or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our pet Products’ data practices, please contact UME Studio at support@umestudio.net or through the channels listed on umestudio.net.
